 An introduction to ADH Baseline
ADH Baseline is a family-owned business run entirely by family members, all with a
keen interest in helping the customer. We specialise in wholesaling all aspects of Personal
Protective Equipment, mainly for the agricultural, horticultural and forestry industries,
but also with some research and development, chemical and industrial interests.
From immediate post agricultural college days until the present time, both my eldest
son Richard and I have spent our working lives advising and servicing farmers, growers
and the agricultural supply industry. My own field of experience is the result of thirty
years in the agricultural chemical industry, while Richard’s background is in animal
health products and the use of agricultural chemicals.
For almost twelve years I worked for FMC Corporation in their Brussels-based Agricultural
Chemical Group as UK/Scandinavian Country Manager, and more latterly as Technical
and Marketing Coordinator for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This experience
of working with persons using sometimes toxic early-stage compounds led me to
an awareness of the importance of the correct safety clothing and equipment if we
were to value peoples’ health. This awareness has led us to be highly selective in the
products that we offer for sale.
The same awareness has shown the necessity for special materials and items to deal with
particular hazards. One such example is the short-term emergency spillage containment
bag, made from a laminated plastic with a metallic vapour barrier layer, specified by us and
marketed under our own “Base-Tech” brand name.
From the company’s inception in 1992 I felt there was a need not only to supply quality
products for personal protection but also to offer our wide experience, in the selection
of the appropriate products for the level of protection indicated.
Our endeavour is to demonstrate our unique, direct experience, together with the care that
has gone into the choice of both our manufacturing suppliers and their products to suit the
ultimate end user, who has to wear the PPE. We offer our customers quality products, the
benefits of our knowledge and experience and, we hope, a first class service.
